David Zinczenko and Peter Moore are the creators of the “Eight-hour Diet”. They promise that this diet can help you shed pounds and still eat whatever you want. However, there is a trick to this diet i.e. you can only eat in an 8 hour. Another thing which is important to mention is that this diet is not a new thing, since time frames have been introduced in different diets.
Different types of diets are based on the theory that the human body is designed to consume food for a certain period of time and then fast in the next period.
This diet plan involves cycles of 8 hours where you can eat, and then a 16 hour cycle where you continue with fasting i.e. you don’t consume food at all. During this period of 16 hours your body should be focused on recovering and resting instead of eating.
When is the ideal time to start with the 8-Hour Eating Cycle?
The question now is which period of the day should be used for the 8 hour interval of eating? Different researchers claim that the ideal period is from 8 am to 4 pm or 10 am to 6 pm. Bottom line is, whichever period you choose, make sure you eat all the calories planned for that day.
Depending on your daily schedule you can adjust the time intervals and you can even have different intervals on different days of the week. The beginning of the diet should be a 3-day, eight hour schedule and then eventually you should increase to 7 days.
Eat As Much As You Want!
This diet is not restrictive in terms of the type of food you can eat, but there’s no excuse to overdo the diet. The exceptions are sweet drinks, alcoholic or non-alcoholic, which you can consume moderately.
How Does This Diet Work?
When you are on this diet you give your body a possibility to refresh since it is able to process the nutrients and thus eliminate the toxins in a proper way. With this diet the work of the mitochondria is regulated and your body cells receive more energy, which in the long run slows down the process of aging and reduces the risk of heart disease, diabetes, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.
The creators of the diet claim that most people spend their time sitting for 9 hours in an office setting which does not give them enough time to burn all the calories they consume daily. This eventually leads to overweight. This diet restricts eating to only 8 hours which gives another 16 hours for the body to recuperate.
